What is the best way to temporize a crown preparation in which the tooth originally presented with a fractured cusp?
There is a new product called Protemp Crown Temporization Material (3M ESPE) which is perfect for this situation. It is a kit of preformed molar-, premolar-, and canine-shaped, light-cured malleable composite crowns. They can be molded to fit the preparation, trimmed with scissors, and then light-cured for a complete set. They are perfect for emergency build-ups and any temporary crown.
