Irrigation of root canals during endodontics is important, but I sometimes worry that I am exerting too much pressure apically during irrigation. Any recommendations?

There are irrigation syringes that are designed to eject liquid through the side of the cannula, not the tip. This greatly reduces the possibility of delivering irrigating fluids past the apex of the tooth. One such product is Max-i-Probe (DENTSPLY Rinn). This irrigation syringe has a rounded tip and a side-port dispersal system. It is available in eight sizes, from 21-30 gauge. It can also be used to irrigate periodontal pockets.
