I am having trouble achieving an adequate proximal contact with my composite restorations; any suggestions?

Restoring a proximal contact with composite is always a challenge because of the contraction shrinkage upon curing. You must use a matrix system especially designed for composites. Some of the more known products are Composi-Tight Gold by Garrison Dental Solutions and The Palodent Sectional Matrix System by DENTSPLY Caulk. Sectional matrix systems that have a positive curve for a proximal surface usually provide the best results. You should also use a tight wedge while restoring a proximal contact.
