Please advise me on adhesively cementing all-ceramic restorations; some cementation kits have primers, other don’t, and I want to make sure I have the best bond possible.

Adhesive bonding can be quite confusing. Many of the strengthened ceramics, and even metals that need to be adhesively cemented, achieve a much higher bond if a metal or ceramic primer is used. Some resin cement kits have both types of primers in them, others don’t have any. One solution is to use a new product that is a one-bottle adhesive primer that surface treats meta/ceramic, zirconia, alumina, composite, and endodontic posts before cementation. Z-PRIME Plus (Bisco Dental Products) is a one-step, universal product that simplifies the adhesive bonding process and is compatible with light- and dual-cured composites.
