I like the idea of a caries detector, but I hate the messy dyes; any suggestions for a product that is easier to use?

There is a digital imaging caries detector recently available called Spectra Caries Detection Aid (Air Techniques). It uses light-induced fluorescence to image teeth. Carious areas of the tooth show up in red and normal enamel appears green. It is great for the examination appointment, as well as for the caries removal process. Patients love to see the images, and visual confirmation of caries increases patient compliance. It is compatible with most practice management software programs.
