I don’t perform many endodontic procedures in my general practice, due to the technique sensitivity of these procedures. Is there anything new that makes endodontic procedures easier?

DownPak (ei – endo ingenuity, a Hu-Friedy Company) is a new cordless obturation device. A unique feature of the product is that heat and vibration can be used together or separately to assist in filling canals homogeneously, regardless of the technique used. DownPak simplifies the obturation process by allowing the operator to use the instrument as they would use an endodontic file and does the work of condensing as well as vibrating gutta percha into main and accessory canals. DownPak reduces voids in filled canals that almost always cause time-consuming retreatment. Consultants appreciated the cordless portability of DownPak and were satisfied with the large selection of available tips.
