Do you think the use of digital impressions will replace the use of traditional impressions in the future?

Digital impressions are useful tools in the dental office, but they will never totally replace traditional impressions. As with many procedures, it is desirable to have options. The dentist needs to assess each case individually and then choose the best method of obtaining an impression. Right now digital impressions are an option for crown and bridge procedures but are not practical for study models, bleaching trays, orthodontic appliances or removable prosthetics.
