Do you have recommendations on cold sterilization?

If heat-stable or disposable alternatives are not available, heat-sensitive critical and semi-critical instruments and devices can be processed by immersing them in liquid chemical germicides. Examples of these are glutaraldehyde, hydrogen peroxide-based, and peracetic acid sterilants registered with the FDA. Sterilizing instruments using chemical sterilants may require up to 12 hours of immersion and certain post-sterilization procedures are necessary. Processed items need to be:
   1.  rinsed with sterile water after removal to remove toxic or irritating residues,
   2.  handled with sterile gloves and dried with sterile towels, and
   3.  delivered to the point of use in an aseptic manner.
