DESCRIPTION

Seal-Temp S is a resin-based temporary cement indicated for use with temporary crowns, bridges, inlays or veneers, and as a semi-permanent cement for implant crowns. The cement is a light, translucent color, and the setting time is one minute. Seal-Temp S is a medium-strength cement, indicated for use with routine preparations. Seal-Temp is a higher-strength version, indicated for use on teeth with minimal retention. Two, 5 ml automix syringes of Seal-Temp S and 20 mixing tips are provided in the kit. Seal-Temp S was evaluated by 27 consultants in 472 uses. This temporary cement received a 91% clinical rating.

PRODUCT FEATURES

Seal-Temp S provides easy handling and good retention of provisional restorations. The syringe delivers cement neatly into temporary crowns, and it is efficient for multi-unit cases. Excess cement peels off cleanly after one to two minutes, or can be taken off with a probe or a spatula, when it is still unset. Upon removal, Seal-Temp S adheres to the inside of the provisional restoration, not the prepared tooth, resulting in minimal cleanup. The neutral shade has enough translucency for use with anterior restorations including thin veneers.

LABORATORY TESTING

The Ultradent shear bond strength of Seal-Temp S to zirconia and titanium alloy was determined. Means and standard deviations of shear bond strength are reported in the Table. These values of bond strengths are indicative of medium retention.
