Description

Jazz P3S Polishers are latch-type polishers indicated for use on porcelain restorations, but they can also be used on metal. The kit contains 12 diamond-impregnated, rubber matrix polishing instruments in a metal bur block. Each set includes four shapes: flame, cup, knife-edge, and small flame, each in coarse, medium and fine grits. The system is compatible with all porcelain and metal restorations and is sterilizable for multi-patient use. Twenty-eight consultants evaluated Jazz P3S Polishers in over 590 clinical uses. This product received a 91% clinical rating.

Product Features

Jazz P3S Polishers allow for easy intraoral adjustment to restorations that have already been cemented and can also be used on restorations outside of the mouth. The assortment of shapes offered is very complete, with the cup found to be the most useful shape. Porcelain restorations polish very well with Jazz P3S Polishers; however, some consultants commented that the final shine of metal could be higher. The coarse and medium burs were rated highly and the color coding of the shapes was appreciated. Many consultants found these burs to be very durable even after being autoclaved. Fifty-four percent of the consultants rated the Jazz P3S Polishers equivalent to or better than the metal and porcelain finishing kit they were currently using. Forty-three percent said they would switch to this kit, while 50% would recommend it.

Clinical Tips

• When polishing intraorally, use water to help keep the tooth cool.
• If polishing metal and then porcelain, wipe residue off the polishers before use on porcelain.
