Description

SoftX Foam Bite Wing Loop attaches to traditional dental x-ray film for bitewing images. The soft foam cushion protects susceptible surfaces of the mouth during bitewing x-rays. A larger bite wing area allows the film to be placed far enough from teeth to avoid distortion caused by bent films.  Each box contains 250 loops (size 0, size 2, or vertical) and instructions. SoftX was evaluated in over 1100 uses by 15 consultants. It received an 86% clinical rating.

Patients appreciate the cushioned surface of SoftX and found it to be more comfortable than film with a cardboard tab. For the user, placement in the mouth is the same as traditional stick-on tabs. Film packets fit snugly in the SoftX loops, and nearly all consultants commented on improved patient comfort. Sixty percent of consultants felt that SoftX was better than their current bitewing tab. Forty-three percent of consultants would switch to SoftX and 64% would recommend it.
