Description
Hemaseal & Cide is an aqueous solution of chlorhexidine and HEMA, designed to be used as a desensitizer and as a wetting agent before composite bonding procedures and cementations. It is packaged in a 10-ml plastic bottle and is applied as 1 layer covering the dentin before bonding. Hemaseal & Cide was evaluated by 16 consultants in over 590 applications.

Product Features
The 10-ml bottle of Hemaseal & Cide provides about twice the amount of solution compared to similar products. Dispensing is easy, and application requires 1 coat, followed by removal of excess with air. The aqueous solution is designed to be compatible with most bonding systems and helps wet the dentin in preparation for the adhesive. Our laboratory testing confirms the manufacturer’s claim of increased bond strength to dentin with use of this product. Consultants were almost unanimous in recommending Hemaseal & Cide and most commented on the ease of use and lower cost per application. All consultants rated effectiveness in minimizing sensitivity to be equal to or better than other desensitizers.
