Consultants' Comments

  • "White disk creates an awesome polish!"
  • "Very few disks debonded during use."
  • "Having a grit surface on the inner as well as on the outer surfaces of all disks would simplify the choices."
  • "Place a stripe on the disks to differentiate those with grit on one side as opposed to those with grit on both sides."

Description

fini™ Polishing Disks are thin, flexible polishing disks available in 5/16" and 1/2" diameters. Four grits are supplied: coarse, medium, fine and extra-fine. The coarse and medium grits are made from silicone carbide and are used for fast cutting, while the fine and extra-fine grits contain micrograin aluminum oxide, which produces a smooth finish. The disks are color-coded by grit for easy identification and are available in double-sided versions requiring no change for lingual access. fini Polishing Disks are unique in that they have no metal or plastic rings in the center to facilitate attachment to the mandrels like other systems. Instead, they have a centerless rubber mandrel collar, which further increases the usable area of each disk. fini Polishing Disks are a highly recommended set of abrasive-coated vinyl disks indicated for contouring, finishing and final polishing of composite and hybrid ionomer restorations. They received a 91% rating.

Suggested Retail Cost

  • $86.95/180 disks
  • $21.95/50 disks

Product Features

More than half of the consultants stated that their favorite feature of fini Polishing Disks was the ease with which the disks were attached and removed from the mandrels. They also felt that the instructions were through and easy to understand and that the packaging was excellent in its efficiency. Seventy-five percent of consultants rated the availably of sizes, shapes, and rigidity of the disks as very good to excellent. They also were very pleased with the final quality of the surface finish. The lack of a central metal ring is a major, positive attribute of these disks. Few consultants noted that the coarse and medium disks at times left a black gritty surface on the composite. Sixty percent of consultants state that they would both purchase and recommend fini Polishing Disks.
